Chris Kallevag

Do you run 7 miles in 40 minutes?

Bench-press 200 pounds and open bottles with your six-pack?

Do you have a dream relationship, a fantastic job, and friends who always are there for you and never irritate you?

Of course not – because who has that kind of life?

But I can help you create a much better one!

You know how hard it is to get an exercise routine going, keep it going, eat healthy, have a satisfying social life, and have a good relationship. If you are single, how do you find a partner who is a good match? Not easy in today’s society.

How should you exercise and eat to feel good? How can you change your body from the way it looks today to a healthier version?

It’s tough, because it requires discipline and motivation, which has to be ongoing, so your routine continues month in and month out, year in and year out.

You could go to the gym and hire a personal trainer but it’s likely it will be a 25-year-old with only basic knowledge and who isn’t yet mature enough to understand what it takes to juggle work, family, friends, relatives, hobbies, and on top of that fit in an exercise routine without getting totally stressed out.

You might feel you should talk to a professional and sort out your thoughts, behaviors, and relationship issues. But it is not easy to find a therapist or psychologist, and even harder to find one who is a good fit. The profession is also dominated by women so it makes it harder if you would like to talk to a man.

What would you do if you broke your ankle?

If you broke your ankle, you would immediately go to the ER, get it x-rayed, and have a cast put on. The thought, “I’ll wait for six months, and if things don’t get better, I’ll talk to my doctor”, wouldn’t even cross your mind. No one would judge you for going to the hospital because it is socially accepted.

It is much harder to say “I think I need to talk to someone and sort some thoughts out”, especially if you are a man.

You’d like to be content with life and be the best you can be for yourself and your loved ones, right? A broken ankle or a “broken mind” will heal with the proper treatment… See it as a service. You service your car by bringing it to your mechanic, your body by going for a walk and maybe the gym. Why not service your “head” (mind) as well?

It doesn’t matter what others say about you. What is important is what you tell yourself about yourself!

Testimonials

John Risley, Halifax, Canada

I have had the pleasure of employing Chris Kallevag as my personal trainer/exercise coach for the past 8 years. In that time I have gone from an aging and somewhat out of shape 53 year old to having a body and conditioning that would be the envy of most 30 year old men. I attribute Chris’s training expertise to the combined Physiotherapy/ Physical Trainer Degrees he possesses as well as his life long dedication to his own physical conditioning.

Michael (Mickey) MacDonald, Halifax, Canada

I have known Chris Kallevag for a number of years; first as a trainer and then as a friend. I came to know Chris when I was looking for a personal trainer who could help me increase my strength and stamina. I found Chris to be very competent and knowledgeable – he always went the extra distance to help me reach my goals.
Chris is a very personable guy and works well with others. I only know him to be responsible and focused on achieving his goals and helping others achieve theirs.
I would not hesitate to recommend Chris for any endeavor he chooses to pursue.

We met when I felt my attempt to stay young and fit was fatally flawed in respect to the former objective and failing me in the latter. During the period of the next couple of years you designed a series of programs which saw me graduate from a running only program to an ever more sophisticated training program. This involved comprehensive muscle training and cardiovascular exercise, all of which I may say I thoroughly enjoyed. We would meet on a regular basis at which time you would introduce a new program and take me through it so I understood the exercises and their objectives. Helpful for a failing mind you also provided illustrated hard copy so I could refer to it as necessary.
I very much enjoyed our relationship and found you to be most professional and capable. I recommend you to anyone lucky enough to be considering your services.

Chris Kallevag has been my exercise coach for the past four years. He was highly recommended to me then and it didn’t take long to understand why.
It’s not for the weak spirited, his program touch on all aspects of physical fitness, from intense cardio, to weight training, balancing to core strengthening.
He has also introduced me to boxing, which I believe is on of the best overall fitness sports in the world.
When I first came to Chris I didn’t know how to turn on a treadmill. Today I run four times a week, one of those is outdoors. My 23 year old daughter tells me I can outrun her. This is the result of superb training.
I appreciate Chris’s level of expertise, his professionalism, and his patient delivery of each workout.  It is my privilege to be one of his students.

Carol Hansen, Chester, Nova Scotia

I came out of the Jane Fonda arobic workouts era, and I loved it. All that high tempo dance type movements of the 1980s, however, didn’t translate well into the gyms of the late 1990s. I dutifully lifted weights, but would slack off as I found it boring, at times embarressing (when I would sit on a machine backwards by mistake), and intimidating (while seated besides an athlete lifting massive weights next to my five pounders). So I limped along for years, until Chris Kallevag was recommended to me.
Chris custom designed my program according to my body and personality type. I like variety, so he constantly changed my routine, and found creative ways for me to lift weights. He also took into account my weaknesses, and adjusted the program to encourage me to do exercises that I wanted to avoid. I have a weakness in one knee, and Chris went to great lengths to find ways for me to do those all important squats without pain.
Chris is very interesting to talk to, because he explores all avenues of health, both physical and spiritual. He is incredibly professional, and remains focussed throughout the workout. He understands the mechanics of the body, and has no hesitation in telling you to see your family doctor, if he feels that there is an issue that is beyond his field of expertise.
His gym is quiet and private. No more searching for parking, looking for a locker, waiting for a machine to be free. With Chris as your trainer, you no longer have to take responsibility for motivation, the hardest part of remaining fit for life. Chris will become your motivation.

Still not sure I’m the right person for you? That’s perfectly all right. Take your time!
